No Smoking & Safety Signage, displayed in a very innovative and fitting manner @ the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver, BC.

Government, Regional and Local Authority laws & regulations - require you to take care in appropriately advising your staff, guests and visitors, of IMPORTANT information for their Health & Safety.

In addition, such SIGNAGE, can enhance the experience of those persons, entering, enjoying and exiting, your gardens.

Signage - Example 1

How you display, this SIGNAGE, in keeping with these requirements and also;

in keeping with the nature and cultural sensitivity of your China and Chinese Garden representation -

Requires your innovative discretion......

A SIGN advising of the DANGERS - inherent in representation of a culture.

Just how you do that, is a matter for careful consideration; in collaboration with your authorities and professional advisers.

The thing is, that all this commences with the best of intent;

what needs to be done, is CONSTANT REVIEW - to check each ADDITIONAL SIGN against the compliance and cultural parameters.

Signage - Example 2

Aesthetically - it doesn't have to be ALL BAD;

if you blend the mix, with the main consideration always being for " the welfare of the persons," - at or in, your China and Chinese Garden.

Signage - Example 3

A merited sign, regarding an integrated pest management program adopted by the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, in Vancouver, BC.

Embossed and endorsed, by Chinesegardenscene, is this merited approach and appropriate signage displayed.

In the summer of 2006, we witnessed this policy - in action;

with the release of thousands of ladybirds, throughout the Chinese garden plantings.

Signage -Example 4

At the end of the day, sadly, people have to leave;

hopefully, to return, if not the next - soon.

For the moment though and certainly in an EMERGENCY -

They must CLEARLY  SEE the means of egress.

Be that via the China or Chinese Garden's Cultural Shop - or separate and / or via the entrance, they initially entered by.

It must be CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD by appropriate advice, instruction and visible [ power operating or not ] SIGNAGE.
